When is it reasonable to use a degassing hose?
Does having a Bpower battery force us to use a degassing hose? Any lead-acid battery mounted inside a vehicle, among other things, is an indication for the use of a degassing hose. It is what makes the degassing of the battery safe and very effective.
Some vehicles are equipped with a hose with an angle end, with the help of which the gases can be drained from the battery. If such a solution is used in our vehicle, the hose must be placed in the appropriate hole. It is worth remembering that when the hole is located on the other side of the battery, it should be closed using a suitable cap.
Note: Any work on the battery can be dangerous, so we should always wear safety glasses when working on the battery.

Is it permissible to swap the side on which degassing will be done for Bpower batteries?
Bpower car batteries are equipped with holes for connecting the hose on the right or left side. When the degassing hole is located on the wrong side, it is necessary to remove the white plug and place it on the other side. This procedure is designed to prevent the gas from escaping. Removal of the plug is not complicated and this procedure can be carried out using a wood screw, the diameter of which does not exceed 5 mm. The batteries are designed in such a way that even pushing the plug hard will not make it fall inside the battery.
A few words about degassing holes in manufacturers of different brands
At the moment, all batteries used by Mercedes-Benz and BMW are equipped with degassing holes on the positive terminal side, which means they are on the right side. The VW corporation designs its batteries so that the connection is on the left side.
Bpower’s recommendations
Any battery with liquid electrolyte should be equipped with a gas discharge hose. The exception is AGM technology batteries in which they do not emit gases during normal use, and the exception is improper charging or battery malfunction. For AGM batteries, it is recommended to use microprocessor-based chargers >> Microprocessor-based charger << in order to avoid overcharging the battery and damaging it or even exploding!
